TRIMLINE INSTRUCTIONS

Thank You For Choosing Leathos!

TrimLine is designed for leathercrafters who need precise, straight cuts of leather strips. Before use, please read this manual carefully to ensure safe and effective operation.

All Included Parts

1. Assemble the Tool

Connect the two main aluminum parts together as shown on picture

2. Tighten the screws

Tighten both screws (the ones marked in the image). Make sure everything is fixed in place and the tool feels solid before continuing.

3. Insert the Blade

Insert the blade exactly as shown in the image, with the sharp edge facing down. If the blade is inserted the wrong way, the tool will not cut.

4. Tighten the blade screws

Tighten the blade screw so the blade is securely held in place, but avoid over tightening. It should feel firm and stable without using excessive force. Once the screw is tightened, do not loosen it again. If the blade was overtightened, it may have cracked at the pre-cut break point and could fall apart when reopened.

5. Break the Blade Tips

Use pliers or a similar tool, never your hands, to safely remove the sharp blade tips that stick out from the sides. Grip the tip with the pliers and gently bend it sideways. The blade should snap cleanly at the pre-cut break point. Always wear safety glasses while doing this step. This step must also be repeated whenever you replace the blade with a new one.

6. How Should it Look

After breaking off the blade tips, both sides of the tool should look like shown in the image. There should be no sharp edges sticking out on either side.

7. Using the Slot Correctly

While cutting, the leather must sit inside the guide slot and be pulled through it consistently. This slot is designed to control the position of the material and ensure that the strap maintains a uniform width throughout the entire cut. Keeping the leather aligned in the slot is essential for clean and even results.

8. Changing Cutting Width

To adjust the cutting width, simply loosen the two screws (marked on Step 2) that hold the main aluminum parts together. Slide the adjustable section to your desired width, then tighten the screws again to hold everything firmly in position before continuing with the cut.

9. Cutting Thick vs Thin Leather

For thick leather, you can place the material directly onto the TrimLine and start cutting. Just make sure the leather is properly aligned in the guide slot to maintain a straight and even cut.

With thin leather, the material may be too soft to start cutting cleanly. In this case, make a small starter cut with scissors where you want the cut to begin. Then simply place the leather onto the blade and pull it through. The leather must also sit properly in the guide slot during the entire cut.

SAFETY NOTICE

  • This tool contains sharp elements and must be handled with caution.
  • Always wear cut-resistant gloves when inserting, adjusting, or using the blade.
  • Keep the tool away from children and unauthorized users.
  • Ensure that all blade tips are clipped before use to avoid accidental injury.
  • Never disassemble the blade once it has been tightened, as this can compromise its structure and safety.
  • All discarded parts, including broken blade tips, must be disposed of in accordance with local safety and waste regulations.
