Fit the handle before anything else, using the hex screwdriver in the box: the squared end of the blade slides into the handle, the holes line up, and the bolt tightens onto it. After that, lay your paper on the grid and bring its edge up to the scale. Press the clear strip down with one flat hand, pull the handle down through the sheet, then lift the blade and take the paper out. The handle clicks into its latch when you are finished.

Does it arrive assembled?
Not quite. The handle ships off the blade, which keeps the box flat and the edge covered. Fitting it takes about a minute with the hex screwdriver included.

How much can it cut at once?
More than one sheet. It is built to take a small stack, so a set of cards goes through together rather than one at a time. How many depends on the weight of your paper, and we would rather you found that out on the paper you use than repeat a figure we have not measured ourselves.

Will it cut card?
Yes. Cardstock, kraft, tissue and cover weight all go through it. Thick mounting board is still a job for a knife and a straight edge.

Will it cut leather or fabric?
No. It is a paper tool, built for paper and card and the thinner craft materials. It is not a leather cutter and it is not a fabric cutter.

Can I replace the blade?
The blade is fixed to the arm and is not sold separately. Keep it to paper and latch it shut when you are not using it, and it will stay sharp.

Stop Cutting Wavy Edges With Scissors!

    paper cutter feature mechanism

One Stroke and the Edge Is Straight

Scissors wander off the line. A knife and a straight edge hold up until somewhere near the end, and then you feel it slip. This brings a steel blade down the full length of the rail in a single movement, so the cut is over before it can drift. Push the handle down, lift it, and your paper comes out with one clean edge.

    paper cutter feature grid

The Same Size, Sheet After Sheet

A square grid is moulded into the base, with a scale running along both long edges. Line your paper up once and every cut after it lands in the same place. There are no pencil marks to rub out afterwards, and no measuring twice because the ruler shifted while you were holding it down.

    paper cutter feature guard

    Hands Nowhere Near the Blade

A clear press strip runs the length of the rail. Lay a flat hand on it and it pins the sheet while the blade comes through, so the paper cannot shift and your fingers stay behind the guard. When you have finished, the handle clicks into a latch on the base and the blade stays shut until you want it again.

Tuck spots, tags and pockets out of whatever you have lying about. Kraft, tissue, offcuts, all of it trimmed to fit.

      Home and Office

Letter paper brought down to size, recipe cards, school craft. The dull cuts, done straight and over with.

      paper cutter feature desk

It Lives on the Desk, Not in a Cupboard

Low, flat and heavy enough to stay where you put it. Rubber feet under the corners stop it walking while you cut, and it takes up a strip of desk rather than a corner of the room, so it can sit out where you work instead of being fetched.
